Tutorial Center runs out of funding for quarter
The De Anza College Tutorial and Academic Skills Center has reduced tutoring hours for non-basic skills courses, due to the lack of funding for the rest of the school year.
According to Tutorial Center coordinator Diana Alves De Lima, two-thirds of the center's funding comes from a Title 3 federal grant and California Basic Skills Initiatives financing, which must be used for basic skills classes (ESL and math classes below transfer level).…

In a recent e-mail to faculty and staff, De Anza College President Brian Murphy listed changes in De Anza policy due to the state budget crisis.

UC admissions change sparks debate
De Anza College hosted a panel June 4 to discuss the University of California's new admissions policy, which the system hopes will increase campus diversity.

New Mediated Learning Center will open winter 2012
Construction for the site of a new Mediated Learning Center will begin later this month.
The building will house 13 classrooms, including a distance learning room, said Director of College Services Donna Jones-Dulin. The center will also contain a staff development office and a technology resource area, including broadcast media, film and TV.…
