Communications Director Marisa Spatafore said the threat was determined not be credible. "It was closed in reference to some feelings of some staff members," said Spatafore. "When such a threat is made campus security and the president and his staff discuss issues surrounding it and take the appropriate action."
Administrators closed the building at approximately 5 p.m.
Doors to the building were sealed and two Foothill-De Anza District security guards prevented students from entering.
Earlier this month, on Oct. 1, the Hinson Campus Center was evacuated after a bomb threat was phoned in, but according to District Police Chief Ron Levine "no suspicious package or device (was) found."
The evacuation of the Hinson Center took place shortly after midday, and students and staff were allowed to reenter the building within a half-hour subsequent to a search by police and campus authorities.

Please note that the term I used was "in deference to the feelings of some staff members," not "in reference to," as I've noted to the reporters.
